How to Replace a Husqvarna Lawn Mower Blade

After a long, hard summer of mowing and putting your Husqvarna lawn mower blade to work, you may want to replace it. Keeping your Husqvarna lawn mower blade sharp is crucial to prevent grass from being cut with a dull blade and turning it brown; but after a long season of mowing, the Husqvarna lawn mower blade may be dinged up and unable to be sharpened.

Instructions
Things You'll Need:

* Duct tape
* Block of wood
* Leather gloves
* Wrench set
* Husqvarna lawn mower blade

Step 1

Place a piece of duct tape over the air hole on top of the gas tank to prevent any gas from leaking out when you tip the mower on its side. Tip the mower so the Husqvarna gas tank is facing up when you tip the mower on its side.

Step 2

Place the block of wood at the base of the mower deck, and place your foot on it to prevent the mower blade from turning.

Step 3

Unscrew the bolt(s) holding the Husqvarna blade to the crankshaft under the mower deck with the proper size wrench. Take note of which way the blade is pointing for a quick installation.

Step 4

Pull the blade off. Put the new blade in place of the old one. Screw the bolt back in with the proper size wrench until it is hard to turn the bolt.

Step 5

Tip the mower flat on the ground. Remove the tape from the top of the gas tank lid.
